Species Information
Raptors, unlike other groups (fall warblers) are quite easy to identify. Diurnal raptors, as a group, are relatively large and often perch out in open areas. As such they are easy to observe with binoculars or spotting scopes. Nocturnal raptors, on the other hand, can be located by calling after dark. Occasionally, local birding organizations will conduct owl walks designed to locate and identify species in this diverse group.
