Directions & Lake History/Factoid
Directions: The Wallisville Lake Project is located off of Interstate 10 east of Houston off exit 807. After taking the exit, follow on the feeder road to the Trinity River Island Recreation Area sign. Take a right (south) through the gate onto the road and dirve approximately 2 miles to the recreation area and project office.

Factoid: The Wallisville Lake Project is a salt water barrier project located on the trinity River in both Chambers and Liberty counties. It's pristine natural environment consists of bottomland forests, grasslands, streams, marshes, swamps. Natural habitats abide for a wide variety of of fish and aquatic animals as well as shore birds, waterfowl, songbirds, and raptors, and of course the alligators. Likewise, the project provides parks and recreational area, a Visitor Center, picnicking, hiking, birding, pprimitive camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and many other activities for the public.
