Directions and Factoids
Directions: The project is located in Lakewood, Colorado approximately 8 miles southwest of downtown
Denver. It is on Bear Creek immediately below its confluence with Turkey Creek and
approximately eight miles upstream from its confluence with the South Platte River.
Factoid: Bear Creek is an intensively used urban lake set at the base of the foothills of the Rocky
Mountains. Recreation is managed by the City of Lakewood as part of Bear Creek Lake Park,
which offers camping, fishing, no-wake boating, horseback riding, bike and hiking trails,
archery, picnicking, golf courses, wonderful views of the rocky mountains and many other
programs and events.
