Story: The challenge was how to provide customers with the amenities they desired without programmed funding to accomplish the tasks. East Branch Lakes 30-year-old-plus campground was overdue for major renovation that included expansion of individual campsites to accommodate todays customers in addition to providing electric sites where previously there were none. A Cost Share Agreement was initiated with a corporate sponsor and the U.S. Forest Service, who has a working agreement with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to provide federal prisoner labor. As a result of these partnerships, the campground now has electric sites as well as individual campsite renovations that are continuing today
East Branch Lake did not have a picnic pavilion on the project until the same partners collaborated to accomplish the construction of a pavilion with handicapped access walkway.
