Every Kid in a ParkThe Every Kid in a Park initiative is designed to provide all fourth grade students and their families with free admission to federal lands and water for a full year (September 1 - August 31). Please email your photos to CorpsLakes@usace.army.mil The Corps Foundation offers sincere and enthusiastic congratulations to Dr. Kathleen Perales!The American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration awarded long-time Corps of Engineers Research Biologist Dr. Kathleen Perales the Cornelius Amory Pugsley Medal for her leadership in the field of Parks and Conservation. Dr. Perales works for the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. The inscription reads, "Inaugurated in 1928, the Pugsley award is the highest recognition in the United States for outstanding contributions to the promotion and development of recreation, parks and conservation." Senator Lamar Alexander was also awarded the Pugsley medal during the same event. Notable past Pugsley Medal recipients include: Stephen T. Mather, first director of the National Park Service; Robert Moses; Laurance Rockefeller; Stuart Udall; Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Lady Bird Johnson.
