Thank you note from Debbie Reumont of our HQ Public Affairs Office

Just want to take this opportunity to forward the message below from Debbie Reumont of our HQ Public Affairs Office. Debbie, who is retiring after many years with the Corps, has been a friend and champion for the Corps park ranger. Debbie was very instrumental in getting rangers to be a part of many Headquarters/Washington DC public events, and the resulting recognition from the Command chain and HQ employees has left a lasting and positive impression for our park rangers.

It has been an extreme pleasure to work with Debbie throughout the years. She thinks the world of our park rangers as it shows below.

Steve Austin, Natural Resources Manager
Senior Policy Advisor for Park Ranger Activities
HQUSACE

Dear USACE Rangers,

I will be retiring tomorrow (22 November) and would like to take time to say farewell to some of the most dedicated, hard working, skilled and dependable people I've had the privilege to know, and have been honored to work with, over the years.

I am honored to have been part of a team doing their best to serve Our Nation, promote safety/water safety, and so much more. In many cases, you are the "door to the Corps" as you interact with the general public on a daily basis forming those first impressions of the Corps. I've seen first-hand what wonderful ambassadors you are for the Corps and can't imagine how many lives have been saved because of your dedication. I have a great respect and appreciation for all of you, and am grateful to you for having let me be part of a team making a difference by promoting water safety (and more).

At this point in my life, I look forward to continuing to try to make a difference in other ways, albeit, a little closer to home, with my best friend, my husband of 36 years, by my side.

I wish you the very best, and in the tradition of my faith, I pray for God's blessings on you and your work.

Very sincerely,
Debbie
