Helpful Guidance Related to Recovery Act FundsThe Corps of Engineers is receiving funds authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 It is important that improvements to recreation facilities using these funds be accomplished efficiently, in compliance with procurement regulations, and in accordance with Corps recreation facilities standards. The following highlights useful information contained in the NRM Gateway as you prepare for and expend these funds: Facility Design: Modernization Success Stories: Recreation Program Performance Improvement Initiative (RPPII): Acquisition: This link includes some basic acquisition information and will be expanded with additional references: http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/employees/acquisition.cfm REC Network Questions & Answers Southwestern Division Regional Conference for Operation Project ManagersFrom 2-4 December 2008 the Little Rock District hosted the Southwestern Division Regional Conference for Operation Project Managers. The focus of this conference was to mobilize the implementation of the SWD USACE Recreation Strategy Plan. Contributors and participants represented HQ, ERDC, all Districts within SWD, and Vicksburg and St. Louis District's. An emphasis on understanding, acceptance and development of energies that vitalize atypical approaches to policy and procedures and evaluation of best business practices in times of shifting funding allocations within the recreation program. PowerPoint presentations from this conference are available on the Gateway. I highly recommend all USACE recreation stakeholders review these presentations. Go to http://operations.usace.army.mil/conference.cfm?CoP=ProjMgrs&Id=08decSWD&Type=Conf or the "Learning" tab to view conference presentations and handouts. |
