New - Corps Lakes E-Cards!

Have you wanted a new way to let others know about your lake? With the Corps Lakes Gateway's E-Card System you can do just that! In a few quick steps anyone can create a card to email to someone containing a selected photograph, written message, and selected lake.

There are a small number of photographs currently in the system. If you would like to provide additional photographs, please send them to CorpsLakes@erdc.usace.army.mil with the lake name and photo credits, if applicable. Be sure photos are original work and not copyrighted material.

Visit http://www.corpslakes.us. to send your e-card today!

How do I direct others to my Corps project?

Standard URLs have been created for each project and state within the Corps Lakes Gateway per the CECW-CO memo dated 19 May 2006. These URLs are easy to remember and great for your marketing materials!

The Corps Lakes Gateway project pages are not designed to replace existing Corps websites, but provide a template focusing on pertinent standard information to assist the general public.

The standard URLs will provide recreation websites to the visiting public in a much easier, cleaner and shorter manner than our previous process. If the URL is mistyped, the system will automatically forward the user to the front page of Corps Lakes.

To see the current list, go to http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/employees/corpslakes/list.cfm

Comment Cards - June Deadlines

June 10 is the last day for your FY06-07 recreation area and visitor center comment card data to be entered into the Gateway data entry system. Please be sure you have entered all the data for FY06-07 and finalized the process by clicking on the "Submitted" link within the system. The "Submitted" step is necessary in order for your data to appear in the Project Summary Reports.

The system will re-open on June 12 for the current FY07-08 survey to begin data entry.

How do I update my Corps Lakes Data?

Does your Corps Lakes visitor page have bad data or links that don't work? You can update your data two ways: within OMBIL and the data management system. The facilities matrix is populated from OMBIL data, which is received every quarter. Most of the other lake information is collected outside of OMBIL and updated as needed.

OMBIL Data
To view your actual OMBIL data, go to your Lake page and select the "For Employees ONLY" link on the top right of the page. The top of the page will show the date that the OMBIL data were delivered to us. The facilities matrix must be corrected inside OMBIL. Changes made to OMBIL after this date will not appear in the matrix until the next OMBIL download.

Non-OMBIL Data
Data that is not part of OMBIL can be updated via the Corps Lakes Management System. We recommend that the individual responsible for OMBIL input be the person at the project responsible for the review and updating of this data to support the visitor pages. Reviews by other project staff and managers should be coordinated through this POC. Note that you may enter links to websites from your licensed concessionaires. You may also submit partnership items for your Lake site.

For more information and access to the data management system, visit http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/employees/corpslakes/visitors.html
