Challenge Cost-Sharing Cooperative Management Agreements
Information:
Please join us on December 1 starting at 10:00 am Pacific/11:00 Mountain/12:00
Central/1:00 Eastern for a webinar that will walk through the authority, policy,
and procedures for setting up challenge cost sharing cooperative management
agreements (AKA co-management/cooperative joint management) with
nonfederal public entities and nonprofit organizations. These agreements allow
the partner to collect, retain, and reinvest fees collected directly back into the
co-managed park to support the operations and maintenance of the facilities.
One of the goals established by the HQUSACE Director of Operations in the
"FY 26 NRM Strategic Staffing and Operation Plan" is to implement Cooperative
Joint Management at 25 PSAs during FY26.
Outreach messages have been sent through the Public Lands Alliance (PLA)
newsletter and online forum, the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals
(SORP) online forum, the Public Lands Interpretive Association (PLIA), USACE
cooperating associations, and others. Attached is a flier that cam be used at
public meetings, conferences, and other outreach events to help get the word
out.
