International Boating and Water Safety Summitt 28-31 March 2010 - USACE Best Management Practices Session at the IBWSS
    1. The 14th International Boating & Water Safety Summit (IBWSS) will be held at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort on 28-31 March 2010 in Daytona Beach, Florida. In conjunction with IBWSS, the US Army Corps of Engineers will be conducting a Best Management Practices (BMP) Session on Sunday, 28 March 2010 from Noon to 4pm. This event, which is being sponsored by the HQUSACE National Operations Center for Water Safety, will feature eight outstanding presentations from Corps team members throughout the country as well as a number of water-safety related initiatives will be on exhibit. The attached information provides you with a list of the selected speakers/topics for the oral presentation portion of this program.

    2. The Summit is your premier opportunity to network, gain insight and skills to improve your boating and water safety programs. In addition to the Summit itself, there are other boating and water safety courses besides our BMP Session offered both pre and post-conference. The suspense for preregistering for the Summit is 26 February. Be sure to make your hotel reservations prior to February 26, 2010 to receive the special Summit rate (Per Diem Rate). Hotel reservations can be made directly by calling 386-254-8200. See the following web link for additional information on the IBWSS: http://www.watersafetycongress.org/ibwss.shtml

    3. We invite Corps team members to share water safety initiatives by submitting the attached "Water Safety Initiative Showcase Entry Form" and return it to Ms. Doty by 05 March 2010. Showcase selections will be displayed in an exhibit area at the BMP session. Water safety initiatives may fall in any of the following categories; Exhibit (a display used for the general public or one for this specific audience that showcases your project or District initiatives); Posters/Signs/Banners; Giveaways/Handouts; Booklets/Brochures; DVDs/Videos; or Public Service Announcements (Video/Audio).

    4. This BMP session is a prime opportunity to learn from the best and let others know about the great things you do to promote boating and water safety so everyone can benefit from this and the Summit.
