March 6, 2006 Request for Participation, Inflatable Personal Flotation Device Field Test - Suspense 17 March 2006
Steven Stockton, Deputy Director of Civil Works, has signed the attached memorandum, authorizing an optional one-season field test of inflatable personal flotation devices (PFDs) at our projects this year. Many of you have asked about these new generation PFDs for use by our team members. Three specific Coast Guard approved models have cleared all Corps safety tests and now will be further studied to determine the practical application of the PFDs in operations-related work environments.
MSC commands that elect to participate in this test should forward their nomination request to Ms. Lynda Nutt, Program Manager, HQUSACE National Operations Center for Water Safety (Lynda.G.Nutt@uasce.army.mil; 208-773-8442) by 17 March 2006.
