ECS Career Assignment Program (CAP) 2025 Announcement Suspense: 6 December 2024
We are pleased to announce the 13th annual call of nominations for the 2025 HQ USACE Environmental Compliance and Sustainability (ECS) Career Assignment Program (CAP). This program provides an excellent opportunity for future leaders to gain valuable experience and insight into the dynamic and closely interrelated USACE Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Programs at the national level.

There will be two CAP assignments (6-month terms) offered. One is scheduled to run from mid-January through June 2025, and the other from July through December 2025. The exact start date will be negotiated once selections for the assignments are made, and the outgoing CAP will typically overlap with the incoming CAP for one week. Further explanation of the program and the requirements for submission of nominations are enclosed. Salaries for the CAP assignees will remain the responsibility of their home district or MSC. The position will be remote but, if necessary, travel costs will be funded by CECW-CO-N.

Interested and qualified team members must submit a resume through their supervisor to their district Environmental Compliance/Sustainability Office for consideration. District offices will forward their candidates to their Environmental Compliance/Sustainability MSC PM. Each MSC will prepare and send a memorandum endorsing their top two candidates to Myrna Lopez at HQUSACE, Environmental Compliance, Energy, & Sustainability, no later than December 6, 2024. Nominations will not be accepted directly from individuals.

The selection committee will be looking for qualified individuals with environmental compliance and/or sustainability expertise, who are consistent top performers, energetic, self-motivated and forward-thinking individuals, and exhibit clear leadership and career-advancement potential. This program helps to build and strengthen the future leadership of our great organization.

The POC for this program is Myrna Lopez, at CECW-CO-N, myrna.i.lopez- ortiz@usace.army.mil.
