New CDC guidelines
On April 27, 2020, the CDC issued new guidance titled “Choosing Safer Activities” and
updates recommendations for vaccinated and nonvaccinated individuals for both inside and
outside. Most outdoor activities are safe without mask for fully vaccinated individuals,
however CDC still recommends masking wearing when attending a crowded, outdoor event,
like a live performance, parade, or sports event. Non-vaccinated individuals should continue
to wear masks outdoors when social distancing cannot be met. Since our current policies are
based on CDC guidelines, our education campaign can adjust to these guidelines.
We are not to ask visitors if they are vaccinated or not, but in our messaging and public
education we can provide the current CDC recommendations as provided in the following link:

activities.html
Please remember that other requirements under ANNEX I to OPORD 2020-19 (USACE
Operations in a COVID-19 Environment) are still in effect. CDC and DOD recommendations for
face coverings within federal buildings remain in accordance with the previous guidelines.
Social distancing and controlling capacity within buildings continues to be a recommended
practice.
We want to continue to do our part. Please ensure all staff, contractors and volunteers
continue to follow USACE and CDC guidance on social distancing, face coverings and washing
hands. Thanks to all for your dedication to providing recreation services and access for the
visiting public under this continued challenging time. Please check on your teammates and
when possible take some well-deserved time to relax away from work.
