Request for Interest in a NOC for Water Safety funded Public Safety Intern - Suspense: 25 Feb 2015
Field projects must submit their requests through their District POC for their Division MSC NRM Leads that must submit requests by COB 25 February 2015 to National Water Safety Program Manager Pam Doty. Request form, instructions and job description are attached.

There is no guarantee that the National Cooperative Agreement will be in place in time to get interns for this recreation season but it is looking like a real possibility that it might be so I want to have all the requests in hand to move on getting interns if the National agreement does get in place in time. If the National agreement is put in place in time the NOC for Water Safety will be providing funding for at least 20 public safety interns for a 12 to 16 week period during the FY15 recreation season.

The interns funded by the NOC will be required to promote water safety the majority of the time while they are working. Please look at the intern job description and instructions that are attached for more details. This is a great opportunity for staff that can be utilized to promote water safety so every field project that is interested is encouraged to apply.

Field Projects: Submit your request to your District POC.

District POCs: Consolidate requests received from field projects and send your Division MSC NRM Leads your top 4 requests. Division MSC NRM Leads are responsible for setting a deadline to receive requests from Districts.

Division MSC NRM Leads: Consolidate requests received from District POCs and send your top 10 requests to National Water Safety Program Manager Pam Doty by COB 25 February 2015.

If you have any questions concerning this please feel free to contact me.

Thanks and Be Safe - Pam
