Directions & Lake History/Factoid
Directions: From downtown Springfield, follow Columbia St. (US40/OH4) east, then continue following OH 4
north after the split with US 40 through Springfield to Croft Rd. Turn right on Croft and
left onto Overlook Drive following the Visitor Center signs.
Lake History
Factoid: The US Army Corps of Engineers operates a Visitor Center and three recreation areas
providing reserveable picnic shelters, restroom facilities, playground equipment, and
shoreline fishing access with an accessible fishing pier. A paved bike trail connects to a
regional network of trails, and several miles of hiking trails meander through woodlands
and a restored prairie. Canoe and kayak access to Buck Creek is also available. At
adjacent Buck Creek State Park, there is a campground, rental cabins, a marina, swimming
beach, and trails.
